Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC 1GB GDDR5 Video Card

The Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is a factory overclocked graphics card that is priced around $250. With dual blade fans that are easy to clean, the GTX 560 Ti GC offers above average cooling. And while the card supports the latest games, the performance of this card compared to competitors is underwhelming. Overall, the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is priced too high at the moment to give it a competitive advantage.

Review - Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC Video Card

Built to fill in the sweet spot in NVIDA's line of high performance 500-series cards, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Titanium) is a more affordable alternative to the GTX 570 and 580. With a street price ranging between $250 and $280, the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is a factory overclocked version with a dual blade 90nm fan cooler. As with other Galaxy cards, the fans on the GTX 560 Ti GC are removable for easy cleaning.
Compared to the previous generation of GTX 460 video cards, the reference design of the GTX 560 is built with an additional copper heatpipe and larger heatsink for improved cooling. The card also features 5Gbps memory modules, which are faster than the GTX 460.
The graphics clock speed of the Galaxy Geforce GTX 560 Ti GC is 835MHz, and the processor clock speed is 1670MHz. Since the GTX 560 Ti GC is factory overclocked, this is slightly faster than the base GTX 560 Ti, which has an 822Mhz graphics clock and 1645MHz processor clock. The GTX 560 Ti GC also has 384 CUDA cores and comes with Xtreme Tuner HD Overclocking software.
Since the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is a brand-new card, the latest technologies are supported, such as Microsoft DirectX 11, NVIDIA PhysX, CUDA, and SLI. The card is also NVIDIA 3D Vision-ready, so if you have a 3D monitor and 3D Vision Kit you're well on your way to 3D gaming.
The Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is also equipped with two dual-link DVI-I and one HDMI 1.4a port for connecting it to the latest monitors. The card requires a PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0-compliant motherboard, a dual-width x16 graphics slot, and two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors. You'll also want a 500 watt power supply or greater.

In terms of gameplay, the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC performs competitively with the AMD Radeon 6870, even though the price puts it between the AMD Radeon 6870 and 6950. In some games, such as Civ 5, the GTX 560 Ti GC performed at the level of the AMD Radeon 6950, but this was not the case in a vast amount of games. It is disappointing since the AMD Radeon 6870 is significantly cheaper than the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC.

Overall, the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is a decent graphics card with excellent cooling and support for NVIDA 3D Vision. But it is overpriced compared to the AMD Radeon 6870 at the moment (especially with the recent price drop and rebates on the 6870 at the time of publication). If the GTX 560 Ti GC is priced more aggressively in the future, this card will fare better against competitors.
